Company Profile:

A packaging manufacturer with over two decades of industry experience. It specializes in producing corrugated paper, paperboard, and custom packaging solutions for a wide range of sectors, including retail, distribution, and e-commerce.

Title: Business Development Manager

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 plus car allowance

Purpose of job:

To drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability by identifying and securing new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of packaging solutions that meet customer needs.

Strategic Responsibilities

* Contribute to the development, management, and continuous improvement of the integrated business system.

* Support the achievement of key business objectives, including profitability, cash flow, and return on investment.

* Develop and implement a personal sales plan that aligns with organizational goals, ensuring clarity and buy-in from management and colleagues.

Operational Responsibilities

* Participate actively in the team decision-making process by providing relevant data and insights during the annual budgeting cycle and regular team meetings.

* Drive the right balance between sales growth and margin improvement through continuous enhancement of the product offering and customer portfolio.

* Create and execute sales development plans within the area of responsibility to deliver agreed sales targets at sustainable margin levels.

* Manage personal time and resources effectively to achieve sales goals in a target-driven yet collaborative environment.

Transactional Responsibilities

* Provide detailed and accurate reporting of sales performance, including current results and future activity plans, to support continuous improvement.

* Oversee product requirements across the full process, from customer order to raw materials, production, warehousing, dispatch, and delivery, ensuring smooth coordination and efficiency.

* Coordinate with design and operations teams to maximize the organization’s productive potential through effective support systems.

* Ensure all transaction processing is executed accurately and in accordance with agreed standards.

Skills and Experience:

* Proven B2B sales or business development experience in the packaging or manufacturing sector.

* Strong commercial awareness, with ability to balance sales growth and profitability.

* Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills.

* Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting.

* Organized, proactive, and results-driven, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
