TEXO Recruitment is seeking an experienced General Operative to join our external established civil construction client based in Aberdeen. The General Operative will play a key role in supporting the delivery of civil engineering and multi-utility projects. This position requires a practical, safety-focused, and flexible individual who can work efficiently as part of a team, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and safely.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

* Previous experience on civil engineering, utilities, or construction sites.

* Awareness of safe site practices and health & safety standards.

* Valid CSCS card required.

* Street Works certification – desirable.

* CPCS Dumper and Roller – desirable.

* CPCS Plant Operator card – desirable.

* Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

* Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work both independently and within a team.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Must have the legal right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).

Responsibilities:

* Assist with the preparation, setup, and tidy-up of worksites.

* Perform general labouring duties, including excavation, backfilling, duct installation, and utility infrastructure works.

* Operate hand tools and small plant/machinery as required (subject to appropriate training and competence).

* Maintain clean, safe, and organised work areas in line with site standards.

* Support with handling and movement of materials, including loading and unloading deliveries.

* Follow instructions from Chargehands, Supervisors, or Management in accordance with method statements and risk assessments.

* Comply with all company health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

* Promptly report hazards, incidents, or near misses.

* Accurately complete timesheets and any other documentation as directed.
