Environment and Sustainability Advisor - (12 month ftc) Crewe, covering sites across the North West

A leading transport organisation is seeking an Environment and Sustainability Advisor to support the Head of Sustainability and the wider Safety and Sustainability team. You’ll help develop and implement sustainability strategies, oversee environmental management plans, and ensure high-quality data and reporting underpins continuous improvement.

Key duties of the Environment and Sustainability Advisor role include but are not limited to:

*

Support development and delivery of the business sustainability strategy and coordinate local implementation

*

Collaborate with management teams to implement site-specific environmental management plans

*

Provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives

*

Champion sustainability across the organisation and externally with regulators, industry groups, and customers

*

Support training, coaching, and knowledge transfer to build competence and awareness in sustainability and safety

*

Assist in the management of environmental incidents and ensure effective investigation and remediation

*

Prepare and analyse monthly reports and KPIs to inform strategy and drive continual improvement

*

Support the development, monitoring, and optimisation of management systems

*

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, standards, and best practices in health, safety, environmental protection, and sustainability

The successful Environment and Sustainability Advisor will hold:

Membership of a relevant professional body

*

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

*

Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills

*

Ability to prioritise workload and use initiative to progress multiple projects
