SEN Teacher – Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm
Location: Borehamwood
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
We have an exciting vacancy for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a well-established specialist school in Bushey. This full-time, temporary-to-permanent position is perfect for someone passionate about supporting students with autism and related needs, including speech, language, sensory, and behavioural challenges.

You will be working in a calm, structured setting with small class sizes and excellent staff-to-student ratios. The school champions a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, tailoring learning pathways to ensure each pupil reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver personalised lessons for pupils with complex needs, primarily autism

Use structured routines and visual aids to support learning and communication

Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide holistic support

Monitor pupil progress against EHCP objectives and individual targets

Apply evidence-based strategies to promote emotional regulation and independence

Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom atmosphere

Participate in professional development and contribute to school improvement initiatives

About You:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or equivalent

Experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in specialist environments

Strong understanding of autism and associated support needs

Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching

Excellent communication and team-working skills

Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
