We are seeking a dedicated Design Quality Engineer to join our R&D team in the Ealing office. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and compliance throughout their lifecycle — from concept and design to production and end-of-life. You will act as the quality representative within project teams, defining and implementing quality actions, driving robust design practices, and ensuring adherence to product and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

*

Lead Quality in Design: Represent quality within multidisciplinary R&D project teams across the UK and internationally, collaborating with Marketing, Process Engineering, Production, and both internal and external laboratories.

*

Drive Design Excellence: Contribute to product design reviews, ensuring quality requirements and risk mitigation are integrated early in development.

*

*

Testing & Validation: Develop and oversee test and qualification plans; coordinate external laboratory testing and certification activities (UL, ASTA, BSI, BV, etc.).

*

Problem Solving: Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis) to address non-conformities and improve product robustness.

*

Process Improvement: Ensure adherence to design best practices, statistical methods, and quality tools (capability studies, experimental plans, test planning).

*

Audit & Compliance: Participate in internal and external audits and maintain compliance with relevant standards and certification requirements.

*

Risk & Reliability: Identify and evaluate product risks (quality, schedule, performance), propose corrective actions, and ensure product acceptance criteria are well defined and validated.

*

Lifecycle Quality Ownership: Maintain quality accountability from concept through industrialisation, ensuring stable and sustainable product quality.

Qualifications & Experience

*

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).

*

Proven experience in product design, quality engineering, or R&D within a manufacturing or technology environment.

*

Familiarity with design quality tools (DFMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, etc.).
