The Assistant Accountant will play a key role in supporting the accounting and finance department. This position is based in Hassocks and focuses on ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes and reporting.

Description

Assist in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Prepare and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy in financial records.
Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
Maintain accurate and organised financial documentation.
Contribute to the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
Respond to internal and external finance-related queries in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the wider accounting and finance team to improve processes.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and policies.Profile

A successful Assistant Accountant should have:

A strong foundation in accounting principles and financial processes.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
The ability to work effectively within a team environment.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Previous experience in a similar role within the retail industry is advantageous.
A relevant qualification or working towards one in accounting or finance is preferred.Job Offer
