WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is a defence engineering company based in the UK. We design, manufacture and support military vehicles used by the British Army and international customers.

The Trials support Engineer plays a key role within our Challenger 2 Life Extension Program (CR2 LEP) Trials team supporting the planning, test and qualification of critical systems for the latest generation Main Battle Tank for the UK MOD.

This is a 2 years Fixed Term Contract Role

Location: The role is based at our Telford site although the candidate should expect to be travelling to various locations around the UK and abroad including both civilian and military test sites.

Supporting the generation of wider Trials Management Plans: for example Health & Safety and Security
Supporting the development of the trials programmes plans in DOORS and MS Project.
Support to the Trials Readiness Review including the preparation of review material and support to the reviews.
Support accurate recording of trials incidents using the Data Recording and Corrective Action System, including generating incident reports and providing support to incident sentencing committees.
Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including internal, Army, MOD and suppliers
Working as part of a deployed team or as an individual to support accurate, repeatable test / trial activities.
Support to Vehicle Owners in overseeing trial vehicle maintenance and update. Including the accurate monitoring of the Build State and any deviations from Design Standard.WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or hold equivalent experience is desirable
Experience in verification and validation activities or systems engineering within the Military Land Equipment area is desirable, including the conduct of trials.
You must have experienced in writing technical reports.
An understanding of Data Recording and Corrective Action Systems (DRACAS) processes is desirable
Understanding of Armoured Vehicle design and operation is desirable
An understanding in the conduct of Live Firing procedures and range safety is desirable
An understanding of UK Legislation and standards associated with vehicle testing is desirable
Must hold a Full Clean UK Drivers Licence
Proficient user of MS Office is essential
Able to obtain SC level clearance
Significant Experience in the following software packages: SAP & Teamcenter WHAT WE OFFER YOU
