Head of Media – Maternity Cover (January 2026 Start)

Canterbury | Full-Time | Fixed-Term Contract

We are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Canterbury to recruit an exceptional Head of Media for a maternity cover position starting January 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate Media specialist to lead a thriving department and continue its outstanding success. The school is known for its commitment to academic excellence and fostering creativity, and the Media department plays a pivotal role in engaging students through dynamic and innovative teaching.

The Role

As Head of Media, you will:

Lead and manage the Media department, maintaining high standards and inspiring both staff and students.
Deliver engaging lessons that spark excitement in learning and encourage creative exploration.
Support students across Key Stage 4 and 5, following the OCR Cambridge Technicals Level 3 curriculum.
Provide expert guidance in the use of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop, ensuring students develop strong technical skills.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a candidate who:

Has a proven track record of successful Media teaching at secondary level.
Demonstrates excellent organisational, ICT, and interpersonal skills.
Is passionate about fostering a stimulating classroom environment.
Has experience supporting students with industry-standard software and coursework requirements.
