TeacherActive are proud to be working with a wonderful SEND school in the Maidstone area, supporting them in their search for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school provides a warm, inclusive environment focused on helping each pupil develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Roles & Responsibilities:

Support students across a range of ages and abilities, including those with Autism (ASD), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and SEMH needs

Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging, tailored support

Help to create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

Provide 1:1 and small-group assistance to students who may need extra guidance

Use initiative to de-escalate challenging behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing

Encourage independence, confidence, and progress in every pupil

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / TA will have:

Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs or disabilities

An understanding of Autism, SEMH, or complex learning needs

Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent qualification (desirable but not essential)

A patient, empathetic approach and strong communication skills

Team-Teach or MAPA training is a bonus, but not required
