Position: Humanities Teacher
Location: Buckingham
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £29,344 – £44,919 (MPS/UPS)
Start Date: ASAP

A well-regarded secondary school in Buckingham is seeking a passionate and skilled Humanities Teacher to join their department with an immediate start. This opportunity is ideal for teachers with a specialism in History, Geography, or a broader Humanities background who are eager to contribute to a supportive and forward-thinking school community.

Key Responsibilities

Teach engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in Humanities subjects

Plan and deliver lessons that promote enquiry, critical thinking, and active learning

Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear feedback and targeted support

Establish and maintain a positive, well-managed learning environment

Support curriculum development and contribute to wider school life

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes

Essential Criteria

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level

Strong subject knowledge and an ability to deliver content effectively

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Commitment to inclusive practice and high standards of student achievement

Desirable

Experience with exam board specifications and assessments (e.g., AQA, Edexcel)

Willingness to contribute to enrichment or extra-curricular activities

Engagement with professional development and reflective practice
