SEN Teaching Assistant - Thirsk

Location: Thirsk
Salary: £96-£110 per day
Contract: Full time
Start Date: ASAP

Are you a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a supportive school environment? We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN TA to work with one of our schools to support students with special educational needs (SEN) in both Primary/Secondary schools across Thirsk.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional needs
Assist the teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
Support students with emotional regulation, social skills, and communication
Use a range of strategies and interventions to meet individual needs
Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children with SEN (school-based or other relevant settings)
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Relevant qualifications Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach, or equivalent - desirable but not essential)
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
