Inspirational English Teacher – January Start – St Albans

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire | Start Date: January 2026 | Contract: Full-time, long-term (with potential for permanent placement) | Salary: £34,398 – £52,490 (MPS to UPS London Fringe, 2025/26 academic year)

This opportunity is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and offers excellent professional development within an inclusive and thriving school environment.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualified English Teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

Genuine enthusiasm for English language and literature

Strong classroom management and high expectations for achievement

Ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)

Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, inspiring lessons that challenge and motivate pupils

Monitor and assess student progress to secure strong academic outcomes

Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

Support pupils’ personal and academic growth

Participate in parents’ evenings, meetings, and whole-school events
