Quality Engineer

Aerospace/Defence

Fareham, Hybrid Working, up to £50,000

We’re seeking a Quality Engineer to join a leading aerospace organisation, where you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with industry standards and driving continuous improvement across engineering projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems, software, hardware, and mechanical design projects, contributing to the highest levels of design assurance.

Key Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer

Develop and manage external QA interfaces across projects.
Review and approve design and development documentation to ensure compliance with quality systems.
Create and maintain Quality Plans aligned with stakeholder, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
Audit project lifecycles for adherence to aerospace standards including ARP4754, DO-254 (ED-80), and DO-178C (ED-12C).
Ensure customer requirements and design review criteria are met across all development activities.
Oversee conformity assessments and ensure lifecycle data integrity.
Manage deviations in design processes and lead corrective actions.
Support subcontractor compliance and facilitate internal/external continuous improvement initiatives.
Act as a key point of contact for quality-related guidance and information. 

What We’re Looking For

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.Quality Engineer Skills & Experience:

Awareness of AS9100, ARP4754A, DO-178B/C, DO-254, and aerospace regulations (civil & military).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage subcontractors.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and conflict management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based tools.
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
