Mechanical Design Engineer (Material Handling / SolidWorks)

£40,000 - £45,000 + Remote + Annual Bonus + Enhanced Holidays + Private Healthcare + Tech Package + Training + Progression

Are you a mechanical design engineer with experience in the material handling industry, looking to join a company who will reinvest in your career progression and provide you with a generous benefits package, from the comfort of your own home?

This company are a leading design consultancy in the material handling and heavy industrial industry. They provide a full project management service to all of their clients around the UK. Designing large conveyor systems to small staircases and structures, this team of highly skilled designers do it all.

On offer is the opportunity to become an essential part of the business, helping to manage the increasing workload of exciting new projects. You will be designing mechanical components and complete models in 2D and 3D, using SolidWorks and Tekla. The ideal candidate will meet deadlines without any delays and achieve client satisfaction with every project.

This role would suit an experienced mechanical design engineer with an interest in the material handling industry, looking to join a company who will develop your skillset and software knowledge to become an independent and remote mechanical designer.

The Role:

Develop design documentation of 3D models, 2D drawings, schematics, and calculations
You will be producing supporting materials certification dossiers, quality plans, and manuals for clients to understand the project and finished product
Use SolidWorks and Tekla with precision to meet technical requirements, safety standards, and client expectations
Collaborate across disciplines and with suppliers to ensure deadlines are met
Maintain high standards in quality, delivery, and budget control
Go into the office in Derby once or twice a month

The Person:

Experience in a mechanical design role using SolidWorks and Tekla
Full UK driving licence
