We’re working with a prominent building services contractor in Blackpool to find an experienced Electrical Design Engineer. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing clarity and technical accuracy to complex electrical designs across commercial and public-sector buildings.

What You’ll Be Doing

*

Producing electrical designs from concept through to construction stage

*

Coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to develop clear, buildable solutions

*

Reviewing specifications, drawings, and client requirements

*

Undertaking calculations, lighting designs, cable sizing, and distribution layouts

*

Supporting tender and construction documentation

*

Liaising with pre-construction, estimating, and site delivery teams

*

Conducting site visits as needed to assess design integration and buildability

*

Assisting junior design staff and contributing to continuous design improvement

Skills & Experience Required

*

Strong background in electrical building services design

*

Experience working for a contractor or consultancy on commercial and public sector projects

*

Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Amtech, Dialux, Relux)

*

Excellent communication and coordination skills

*

Knowledge of current building regs and BS 7671 wiring regulations

*

Ability to manage workload across multiple projects

*

Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
