Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Coleshill
Contract: 6 Months (potential for extension)
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (4 days on site 1 day remote)

Randstad Sourceright are recruiting on behalf of Balfour Beatty for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the HS2 project team based in Coleshill, North Warwickshire.

Key Responsibilities

*

Manage and oversee commercial and cost management functions for key utilities, highways, and drainage packages within the HS2 infrastructure project.

*

Administer and manage NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, ensuring compliance and effective change management.

*

Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports to ensure financial control and value delivery.

*

Lead on subcontract procurement, valuations, payments, and final account settlement.

*

Identify, evaluate, and manage risks and opportunities within assigned work packages.

*

Provide commercial insight and advice to project teams to support delivery performance.

*

Collaborate closely with engineers, planners, and other commercial staff across a team of 20+ professionals.

Candidate Profile

*

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.

*

5–10 years’ experience in commercial roles within major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

*

Strong background in utilities, highways, and drainage works.

*

Proven experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts.

*

Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

*

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-value environment.

*

Previous experience working on large-scale public infrastructure projects (e.g., HS2, highways, rail, utilities) is highly desirable.
