ISS Build, Enterprise Operations Team

Salary: £39,906 to £46,049

Lancaster University Information Systems Services (ISS) department is looking for a Developer to join the Enterprise Operations team on a fixed Term Contract until 30th June 2026.

You will be working on a mix of new development projects and the legacy system support as part of the university's multiyear digital transformation program. We are expanding the Enterprise Operations team to meet increased demand and project volume over the coming year

The team is responsible for a wide range of Software products and services including bespoke products developed in-house, customised third party Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, and externally managed products.

As a developer, you will undertake work packages in a range of projects in areas such as cloud migration, as well as supporting, maintaining and implementing change to existing products and services. To do this you must have experience of full stack development and working with front end and back-end technologies. Applicants should be comfortable working with long lifecycle IT systems and older codebases, some of which may not be well documented or optimally maintained. You will play a key role in the ongoing enhancement and improvement of these systems of our ongoing transformation

You'll be joining a team of six highly experienced developers working in two-week sprints within a hybrid Agile and Waterfall framework. The team work collaboratively and enjoy having delegated ownership and responsibility for end-to-end task delivery

The successful candidate will have the following skills & experience:

· Backend Development: C# .NET Core, API development, SQL

· Frontend Development: Angular or similar frameworks

· Legacy Systems: ASP.NET Web Forms

· Architecture & Integration: System design, integrations

· Methodologies: Agile, Waterfall

The role is primarily based on the Lancaster University Bailrigg campus, with flexible hybrid working options to support a positive work-life balance.
