Astute Recruitment are seeking a meticulous, dynamic, and dedicated Accounts Assistant to join our Derby based client. This role is ideal for someone who has a genuine passion for accounts and a keen eye for detail.

As Accounts Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include managing both purchase and sales ledgers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the accounts team.

Responsibilities:

* Processing purchase invoices and matching them to purchase orders

* Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies

* Handling sales ledger tasks including invoicing, credit control and customer account reconciliation

* Maintaining the cashbook

* Assisting with month-end closing and preparation of financial reports

* Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies

* Providing support to finance team as required

Candidate requirements:

* Proven experience in a similar role

* Strong understanding of both purchase and sales ledger processes (Ideally at least one years’ experience of each)

* Excellent attention to detail

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Benefits and hours:

* Salary up to £27,500 depending on experience

* Flexible start and finish times with core hours being 9:30am until 4:30pm

* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

* Annual bonus scheme
