Estimator – Industrial & Steel Frame Projects
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
Location: West Malling, Kent (Office-based, 5 days a week)
 
A New Opportunity for an Experienced Estimator
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Estimator with industrial project experience or a background in costing steel frame envelope packages to join a forward-thinking and dynamic construction business based in West Malling, Kent. This is a key role within a growing pre-construction team, supporting the pricing and tendering of complex and technical build projects, typically in the industrial, logistics, and distribution sectors.
 
Your Next Role – What You’ll Be Doing
As an Estimator, you'll play a vital role in the commercial success of each project. Your responsibilities will include:

Cost Estimation: Reviewing drawings and specifications to prepare accurate cost plans and take-offs for materials, labour, and preliminaries.
Tendering: Leading the preparation of tender submissions and compiling competitive bids aligned with client requirements and project specifications.
Supplier/Subcontractor Liaison: Sourcing and negotiating prices with suppliers and subcontractors for steel frame, cladding, roofing, and associated envelope packages.
Risk Management: Identifying commercial and technical risks and building allowances into estimates where appropriate.
Collaboration: Working closely with in-house design, planning, and delivery teams to ensure all estimates are commercially viable and technically sound. Your New Employer – Why You’ll Want to Work Here

What You’ll Need – The Ideal Background

A minimum of 5 years' experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
Demonstrable experience with steel frame industrial projects or envelope packages.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of modern construction methods.
Proficiency in estimating software and Excel.
