Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our team based at our North East head office in Sunderland.

The Role

Are you an experienced Commercial Manager looking for your next role with a growing housebuilder?

Joining our team as Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for driving performance along with the effective leadership and management of the commercial function within the North East region. Reporting to our Managing Director, you will be responsible for delivering efficient and accurate cost control and procurement needs, working closely with the departmental heads, in order to meet the regional business plan and future growth requirements.

Key duties and requirements

You will also be responsible for but not limited to;

Driving and embedding the regional Commercial strategy to ensure the smooth delivery of the regional business plan.
Growing the Commercial function ensuring the effective management, compliance, control and collaborative team working to implement best practice.
Responsibility for embedding appropriate cost control measures and approaches.
Actively managing the procurement and control of subcontractor services and supplier orders.
Establishing and maintaining working relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers.
Undertaking a continuous review of the regions commercial performance.
Ensuring that development build costs, contingencies, cash flows and financial information is reported and recorded accurately.
Providing recommendations and action plans to mitigate against any commercial performance risk.
Undertaking regular cost valuations and projections in relation to site expenditure and procurement.
Actively manage communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensuring the department maintains and achieves its payment and reporting requirements.
Providing key status reports and updates on all KPI'sWho are we looking for?

To be successful as our Commercial Manager, you will hold relevant commercial management experience within the residential housebuilding industry, along with experience of people management.

You will also possess;

An extensive understanding of the financial implications of the methods and sequences of build.
Excellent financial and Commercial awareness.
Departmental planning and strategy experience.
Excellent relationship building skills.
The ability to showcase inspirational leadership skills and the mentoring of team members.
The ability to deliver and achieve deadlines.What will you get in return?
