About the Role:

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join the support team of a dynamic and caring Secondary School in Wallasey. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the development of students in a safe, supportive, and secure environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the learning journey of young people while supporting their well-being and growth.

Working closely with students across the school, your role will be to understand each student’s specific needs, helping them to learn as effectively as possible. You will also support their safety, personal care, and inclusion in the classroom. If you are passionate about making a difference and providing high-quality support, we would love to hear from you.

This position is 32.5 hours a week, 39 weeks a year (term-time plus INSET days, holidays to be taken in non-term time).

Key Responsibilities:

*

Promote students’ development in a safe, secure, and inclusive environment.

*

Support students with physical or medical needs, following individual care plans and encouraging independence. This may include administering medication or providing medical assistance once appropriate training has been given.

*

Develop a deep understanding of each student’s specific needs to ensure effective learning and engagement.

*

Encourage inclusion in the classroom, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment.

*

Display students' work to celebrate their achievements and build confidence.

*

Assist with personal hygiene and self-help tasks (feeding, dressing, toileting, etc.) where needed.

*

Facilitate small group interventions such as homework clubs, social skills sessions, and other SEND-related activities, as directed by the SENDCO.

We Offer:

*

The chance to work for a forward-thinking Multi Academy Trust, one of 87 national Teaching School Hubs, which includes the lead school for the Cheshire and Wirral Maths Hub.

*

Mentoring and high-level training with a well-established SEND team, offering the opportunity to work in both mainstream and specialist settings.

*

Encouragement to develop your career, with clear opportunities for progression and professional growth.

*

A caring and supportive environment where well-being and work/life balance are prioritised.

*

Opportunities to be part of a wider school and MAT team, working collaboratively to achieve ambitious outcomes for students and valuing each individual's contribution.

Safeguarding:
In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, the Multi Academy Trust will undertake general online searches on all shortlisted candidates, which may include public data from social media and video platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Any concerns raised through this process will be discussed during the interview stage.

The successful candidate will be subject to relevant clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
