Job title: Transport Clerk
Location: Tamworth
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Type: Office-based
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000pa
Temp to perm role.

Recruit Central is recruiting on behalf of our client in Tamworth for a Transport Clerk to join their busy logistics operation.

Key Responsibilities of Transport Clerk:

*

Work independently and use your own initiative to meet deadlines.

*

Communicate effectively with drivers, colleagues, and management.

*

Maintain a good geographical knowledge of the UK.

*

Monitor and record driver performance.

*

Ensure accuracy in all transport and administrative documentation.

*

Carry out driving licence checks and ensure compliance with traffic laws.

*

Support and train new starters as required.

*

Accurately book drivers and vehicles for scheduled jobs.

*

Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.

*

Order vehicle parts and manage driver holidays and sickness records.

Requirements for the Transport Clerk role:

*

Confident working on your own initiative with strong communication skills.

*

Good geographical knowledge of the UK and understanding of transport operations.

*

Excellent attention to detail and solid administrative ability.

*

Knowledge of traffic laws and driver compliance.

*

Organised, reliable, and able to manage driver performance, holidays, and paperwork efficiently.
