A supportive and inclusive primary school in Barnet (NW4) is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEND provision. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled and compassionate individual to make a meaningful impact in a small, nurturing classroom environment.

About the School

The school is recognised for its commitment to inclusive education and providing a caring, structured setting where every child is valued. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils with special educational needs receive the tailored support they need to progress both academically and emotionally. The Role

You will work in a small class of up to eight pupils who are not yet ready to access mainstream classroom provision. The ideal candidate will bring calm, consistency, and creativity to their approach, using effective de-escalation and engagement strategies to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
The school day runs from 8:15am to 4:15pm, and the position will continue at least until Easter 2026.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally within a primary school setting

• Strong understanding of behaviour regulation and de-escalation strategies

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for inclusive education
