Quality Manager - £55,000 - £65,000 - Manufacturing - Witham

A leading UK-based manufacturer of specialist safety and control systems is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead its Quality Assurance function. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on management, ensuring the organisation remains compliant, drives operational excellence, and continuously improves its systems and processes.

Key responsibilities:

Manage and develop the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring policies and processes remain current and effective
Lead internal audits, train others in audit processes, and maintain the audit schedule
Act as signatory for Declarations of Conformity under the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)
Liaise with notified bodies, certification authorities, and external auditors
Oversee ISO certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, F-Gas) and ensure regulatory compliance
Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement using tools such as FMEA, Ishikawa, 8D, and Pareto analysis
Support client tenders and PQQ submissions with detailed, high-standard responses
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and senior management to ensure quality objectives are met
Promote sustainability initiatives and maintain environmental management systems

About You:

Extensive experience in a senior Quality Management role, ideally within manufacturing or safety-critical industries
Strong knowledge of ISO frameworks, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and TQM
Proven ability to influence, lead change, and manage cross-functional teams
ERP/Quality systems experience (SAP, SAGE, NetSuite, or similar)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent the business to clients, suppliers, and certification bodies
Relevant degree preferred, NEBOSH qualifications advantageous
