About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive and motivated Stores Operative to join a small, fast-paced team within a busy manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on position where strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication are essential.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting goods-in, stock control, and material flow across production and dispatch. The role involves manual handling, so a good level of physical fitness is required. Previous forklift experience would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

* Receive and inspect incoming goods against delivery notes for accuracy and damage.

* Notify relevant departments of shortages or damaged items and follow up as required.

* Store received stock in correct or overflow locations, ensuring accurate inventory records.

* Unload vehicles and manage goods-in processes efficiently.

* Issue and kit materials to production in line with schedules.

* Manage kitting to sub-assembly areas and handle related queries.

* Conduct periodic cycle counts and maintain stock accuracy.

* Ensure security and control of raw material stock.

* Rotate materials with attention to product life cycles, especially mouldings, adhesives, and consumables.

* Support despatch operations, including loading/unloading trucks and moving stock via forklift (training provided if required).

* Cross-train in multiple logistics functions to provide cover and flexibility within the team.

* Adhere to company Health & Safety procedures and policies.

The Candidate

Previous experience in stockroom, logistics, or despatch within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential

Computer literate and confident using stock control systems

Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

Forklift licence desirable (training available for suitable candidates).

Physically fit and able to lift weights within HSE guidelines.

Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a hands-on attitude.
