Development Chemist - Folkestone
Location: Folkestone
Pay Rate: £16.35 per hour
Contract: Temporary (with potential for extension)
Requirements: Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field

We are seeking a Development Chemist to support the ongoing management of personal care products after launch. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining product quality, safety, and compliance through testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Changes: Evaluate and approve ingredient, packaging, or manufacturing site changes while ensuring product consistency and compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams (regulatory, safety, supply chain, quality) and external partners (suppliers, manufacturers, test labs).
Testing: Plan and conduct in-house or outsourced testing to verify product performance and regulatory compliance.
Documentation: Prepare validation reports, test plans, and other technical documents in line with regulatory requirements.
Technical Support: Troubleshoot product issues and provide updates to stakeholders on risks and progress.Skills & Experience Required:

Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biochemistry, or similar
Experience in cosmetics or personal care industry (especially formulation/testing)
Strong communication and coordination skills
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
Proficient in documentation and data analysis using IT tools
