Description

Sales Engineer

UK-based (Hybrid, 50% travel)
£45,000 – £55,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Want to sell the tech that keeps structures standing?

Ever wondered what ensures skyscrapers don’t sink, tunnels stay safe, or offshore wind farms stay put? That’s where this role comes in. The company behind this position pioneered advanced soil testing technology more than 30 years ago - and today, its systems underpin major geotechnical and civil engineering projects worldwide.

We’re looking for a Sales Engineer to drive UK sales and support European agents, selling sophisticated laboratory testing systems (£30K–£150K) to universities, research institutions, and commercial laboratories that value precision and reliability.

What You’ll Do

* Manage the full sales cycle across the UK and Europe — from lead generation to close.

* Build and nurture long-term relationships with laboratory and engineering clients.

* Support international sales agents through training, joint visits, and technical guidance.

* Represent the company at industry exhibitions and trade shows.

* Collaborate with internal technical teams to deliver tailored, consultative solutions.

What We’re Looking For

* 5+ years’ experience selling complex or technical equipment to laboratories or industrial clients.

* Strong consultative sales skills and ability to manage long (6–18 month) sales cycles.

* Confident working with technical professionals and decision-making committees.

* Interest in engineering, geotechnical, or scientific equipment.

* Willingness to travel up to 50% across the UK and occasionally Europe.

Why This Role?

* Comprehensive technical training from industry experts.

* Real impact — every sale contributes to safer global infrastructure.

* Strategic projects beyond day-to-day selling (trade shows, partnerships, market insights).

* Excellent long-term career prospects with global exposure.

Benefits & Perks

* 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays

* Non-contractual annual bonus (typically equivalent to 4 weeks’ pay)

* Christmas shutdown period (3 days taken from holiday allowance)

* 38-hour working week with an early finish at 3pm every Friday

* Free daily lunch provided – including sandwiches, baguettes, salads, and hot meals

* On-site parking available for all staff

* Judges Share Scheme eligibility after 6 months of service

* £75 annual wellbeing voucher to spend on an activity of your choice

* Pension scheme: 5% employee contribution, 3% employer contribution

* Life assurance cover at 4x your annual salary

* Cycle to Work Scheme available through Evans Cycles
