Poolhall Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client — a leading supplier of safety and construction products and services — for an experienced Material Planner to join their established operations team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual with a strong background in material planning, inventory management, or procurement to play a key role in ensuring smooth product flow across the supply chain.

About the Role

The Material Planner will be responsible for ensuring stock availability meets customer demand while optimising inventory levels, reducing obsolescence, and supporting overall business efficiency. Acting as a vital link between procurement, suppliers, warehouse operations, and sales, you’ll ensure that materials move seamlessly through the distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and manage material requirements to ensure stock is available to meet customer demand.

* Maintain accurate planning data within the ERP/MRP system, including lead times and reorder levels.

* Monitor forecasts and usage trends to keep inventory levels balanced and efficient.

* Work with suppliers and the procurement team to manage orders, lead times, and delivery performance.

* Resolve any supply issues or delays quickly to minimise disruption.

* Collaborate with warehouse, sales, and logistics teams to support smooth product flow and order fulfilment.

* Produce regular reports on stock levels, supplier performance, and forecast accuracy.

* Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve accuracy, and streamline processes.

Experience required

* Experience in material planning, inventory management, or procurement (ideally within a distribution or wholesale environment).

* Knowledge of supply chain and procurement best practices.

* Computer literate with experience using CRM systems.

* Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

Desirable:

* CIPS qualification or currently working towards it.

* Experience working in a data-driven environment.
