Description

We are recruiting an experienced Carpenter to join a new-build college project in Newport, Isle of Wight. This is a high-quality commercial construction scheme with excellent site management and a positive working culture.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out first-fix and second-fix carpentry works to commercial specification.
Install door sets, partitions, stud walls, roof and floor joists, and timber finishes.
Interpret drawings and work to programme, quality standards, and site schedules.
Carry out accurate setting out, measuring, cutting and fixing of timber and associated materials.
Complete snagging, remedial works and assist with handover of completed areas.
Maintain site housekeeping, follow company HSE procedures and report defects or hazards.Essential Requirements

Blue CSCS Card (site access requirement).
Proven commercial carpentry experience on new-build or educational projects.
NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent trade qualification preferred.
Good knowledge of building regulations, fire doors, and current best practice.
Own hand tools and basic PPE.
Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to Newport site daily.Desirable Skills

Experience with commercial door installation and ironmongery.
Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
Comfortable working within a multi-trade environment and coordinating with site teams
