SEMH Teaching Assistant – Halifax

Full-Time / Term Time only

Immediate starts available Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
The Education Network is seeking a resilient and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist setting in Halifax HX2. This role of a SEMH Teaching Assistant is ideal for someone with experience in behaviour support, youth work, or SEN environments, and who thrives in a nurturing but challenging setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
Working closely with teachers and support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
Promoting positive relationships and building trust with pupilsRequirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
Strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills
A calm, patient and empathetic approach
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to complete one
