Description

A brand new special needs school based in North Tyneside requires an LSA / Learning Support Assistant for an immediate start.

The school is for children and adults with Autism and challenging behaviour. The students are aged from 5 to 25 years old. 

The successful LSA / Learning Support Assistant will have previous experience of supporting children and adults with special needs and must be comfortable assisting with personal care. You must be caring and have a calm demeanour. The students can display quite challenging behaviour so someone who is resilient will suit this role.

The ideal candidate will need to have a Child & Adult DBS or be willing to apply for one.

This is a full time role that has the potential of becoming permanent for the right candidate.  

To be part of this team you will ideally need to have:

A minimum of 6 months experience in a special needs school 

Previous SEND experience, particularly with Autism and challenging behaviour

Experience working in a SEND environment

Experience providing personal care

Be reliable and hard-working

A caring and calm demeanour 

The ability to manage challenging situations
