Mechanical Assembly Technician

Experienced Mechanical Assembly Technicians required to work for a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation based near Dorking. This is a key role to the business where you will be assembling and testing a wide range of mechanical equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of engineering disciplines, have an awareness of tolerances and be competent with basic engineering measuring equipment.

You will be doing Intricate fine tolerance mechanical work and ideally have some form of machining exp CNC or manual to ensure some familiarity of the components you will be assembling using build kits of around (Apply online only) components per assembly.

Role and Responsibilities:

To be able to read and understand engineering drawings, for sub-assemblies
Experience with fitting tolerances and critical dimensions.
Working to drawings and build instructions, be able to build complex assemblies with up to 150 component bill of materials.
Awareness of how to fault find and determine cause of failure or issues and develop solutions.
Have a keen eye for detail, being able to identify issues in a built assembly that would cause failure under test.
Be a self-starter that can work independently towards set targets and goals
Be organised in working process, having an awareness of 5S .
Experience in CNC machining, manual turning and sheet metal process.
Understanding of MRP systems Experience:

Knowledge and experience of Manual or CNC machinery
Skills akin to a tool maker for one off orders in addition to bulk orders
Ability to use measuring tools i.e., micrometre, digital caliper
Intricate fine tolerance mechanical experience
