Designer - Menswear | New York | Fashion | Salary up to $70,000 + Benefits

We are an Iconic British Heritage Brand seeking a talented and experienced Menswear Designer to join our new USA team based in New York. We are looking for a designer with proven experience in mens classic apparel, as well as a strong understanding of the off-price retail market. In this role, you will create trend-driven collections that align with brand objectives and address the specific requirements of off-price retailers. The ideal candidate will bring a creative mindset, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of designing for these specialized markets.

Designer Key Responsibilities:

Trend Research and Design:

◦ Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, fabrics, and silhouettes that appeal to off-price retailers.

◦ Develop seasonal concepts and collections aligned with licensing and branded apparel strategies.

◦ Create compelling sketches, CADs, and technical packages for production.

◦ Work closely with licensing the brand to ensure brand guidelines are met while delivering fresh, innovative designs.

◦ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align on product development and marketing strategies.

Product Development and Execution:

◦ Oversee the development process, from initial concept through final approval, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

◦ Partner with technical design and production teams to resolve fit and construction issues.

Retailer Engagement:

◦ Develop and present design concepts tailored to the needs of off-price retailers, ensuring alignment with market demands and retailer requirements.

◦ Adjust designs based on retailer feedback while maintaining brand integrity.

◦ Work with the wholesale team based in NYC to ensure an excited and relevant collection

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

◦ Work with sales, merchandising, and marketing teams to develop cohesive collections that support business objectives.

◦ Monitor performance of designs in the off-price market, leveraging data and feedback to inform future collections.

Skills & Qualifications:

◦ Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.

◦ Minimum of 5 years of womenswear design experience, preferably with a focus on licensing and branded apparel.

◦ Strong experience designing for off-price retailers, with a proven track record of creating commercially successful collections.

◦ Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and other design tools.

◦ Excellent understanding of fabrics, trims, and garment construction.

◦ Strong trend forecasting and market analysis skills.

◦ Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

◦ Creative, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative.

◦ Strong communication and presentation skills.
