Salary: £100.00 to £130.00 per day (PAYE, Pension, CPD) School Cover Supervisor - Folkestone

Are you a graduate seeking practical experience working with children?

Are you currently working as a Cover Supervisor in a permanent role but would like to work on a flexible basis with days that suit you?Academics are seeking Cover Supervisors in the Folkestone area of Kent to keep up with the demand in covering absent teachers. Day to day, long term and permanent roles available which can be offered to suitable applicants on a part and full time basis.

What is a Cover Supervisor?

Cover supervisors are suitably trained school staff who supervise pupils carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are on short-term absence. The cover supervisor's main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set.

This role can typical involve:

Supervising / covering lessons already planned and set for a class.
Managing pupil behaviour for any class you are assigned cover with and implement schools behaviour policy if required.
Be flexible and able to provide cover across a range of subjects and key stages.
Be able to provide 1:1 support and answer questions about processes and procedures in line with the school policy.
Keeping pupils on task to complete their work.What qualities and skills do you need to become a Cover Supervisor?

Level 2 Qualifications in English and Maths or equivalent
Ability to effectively communicate with a range of audiences.
Good behaviour management skills and remain calm under pressure.
Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
To be highly flexible and possess excellent time management and organisation skills
Understanding of child safeguarding procedures
To enjoy working with young people and are able to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and to recognise potential child safeguarding issues
Passion for Education.
