Maintenance Planner & Scheduler – Industrial Manufacturing (Permanent)
 
We are working with a global leader in mineral-based industrial solutions to support the appointment of a Maintenance Planner & Scheduler for their large-scale processing site in West Thurrock, Essex (RM19).
 
About the Role:
 
This is a full-time, permanent role, acting as the central point of contact for the engineering and maintenance function. You'll be responsible for converting maintenance requests into scheduled work orders, coordinating internal and external resources, and planning timelines to ensure equipment availability and site efficiency.
You will also monitor performance through reports and KPIs, help manage contractor activity, and play a key part in driving reliability improvements across the plant.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and coordinate all maintenance activities across the site.
Manage work orders, resource allocation, and contractor coordination.
Generate reports and track KPIs to support continuous improvement.
Act as the primary liaison between engineering, operations, and support functions.
Contribute to improvements in plant reliability, uptime, and efficiency.  
What We're Looking For:

Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within an industrial or engineering environment.
Suitable backgrounds include heavy industry, manufacturing, water, rail, energy, or similar sectors.
Alternatively, hands-on engineers or supervisors with planning/scheduling experience will also be considered.
Strong organisational, communication, and coordination skills.
Familiarity with CMMS systems is highly desirable.  
What’s On Offer:

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum.
Bonus: Up to 12% annual performance bonus.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm (35-hour week).

Additional: After training, inclusion in a 1-in-5 remote on-call rota (no site attendance required).
