Engineering Manager

Alexander Steele is working with a leading food manufacturing business to recruit an Engineering Manager for their site(s) in Bedfordshire. Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the function and drive operational excellence across our manufacturing facilities.

What’s on Offer:

* Paying circa £60,000 + 10% discretionary bonus

* 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays

* 6% pension

* Private health care

* Monday – Friday (days)

Responsibilities:

* Oversee the maintenance of plant, buildings, and services to minimise downtime and stay within budget.

* Develop a proactive maintenance schedule and ensure all service records are completed and up to date.

* Ensure engineering solutions support production needs and exceed service-level expectations.

* Monitor and control engineering costs, including maintenance, overtime, and waste.

* Manage engineering budgets, including spare parts, CAPEX, and external contractors.

* Drive continuous improvement in equipment performance and energy efficiency.

Background Experience:

* 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, including 3 years in a managerial role

* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or Engineering

* Have strong proficiency in data processing tools like SAP and Excel

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Strong organisational skills and an exceptional attention to detail.
