MERITUS are recruiting for a Buildings & Construction UK Buyer to join our major aviation client on an initial 12 month contract from their site in Broughton.

CONSTRUCTION UK BUYER - INSIDE IR35 - £44 PER HOUR - 12 MONTHS - BROUGHTON, FLINTSHIRE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

Key Responsibilities:

Implement procurement strategies aligned with business needs and project requirements.

Lead procurement projects and tenders with multi-divisional and international scope.

Develop and maintain an effective supplier base to support long-term strategic objectives.

Negotiate, establish, and manage national and international contracts.

Ensure supplier deliverables meet contractual requirements on cost, time, and quality.

Manage supplier relationships, performance reviews, and risk mitigation.

Contribute to savings initiatives through demand management, specification optimisation, and process standardisation.

Support the adoption of innovative procurement tools (e.g., e-procurement, e-catalogues).

Provide guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Strong background in procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiation.

Experience in delivering procurement projects across multiple business units.

Knowledge of supplier performance management and recovery planning.

Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.

Analytical approach with experience in benchmarking, costing, and "make or buy" analysis.

Additional Info:

Reports into the Buildings & Construction Procurement Management team.
