Higher level Teaching Assistant – Year 6 classroom in Hedge End
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term with the potential to become permanent
Salary: £13.90 – £15 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Location: Hedge End

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HLTA to work in an Ofsted rated “Good” school with a fantastic reputation for inclusion. It would be an advantage if you had experience with SATS and interventions for SPAG, Maths, Reading and Writing.

You will be supporting Year 6 students to close any gaps they may have and grow their self-belief and self-esteem with a personalised approach to their interventions and teaching.   Alongside this, you will also provide general classroom assistance, working collaboratively with teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

This is a rewarding role where patience, empathy, and strong communication skills will make a real difference to children in their last year of Primary School.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting SATs interventions for Year 6 students
Providing 1:1 or small group support where required.
Assisting teaching staff with adapting learning resources to suit individual needs.
Encouraging students to build independence, confidence, and resilience.
Supporting the smooth running of the classroom and fostering a positive learning environment.
