Senior Seamstress – Curtain & Blind Manufacturer

Are you an experienced seamstress with a passion for precision and quality? We're looking for a Senior Seamstress to join our dynamic team at a well-established curtain and blind manufacturer based in beautiful Henley-on-Thames.

About the Role

As our Senior Seamstress, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the production of high-quality commercial curtains and blinds, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and excellence in every stitch. You’ll be responsible for managing a team of four skilled seamstresses, coordinating workflow, providing training, and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee day-to-day curtain and blind production using industrial sewing machines

* Lead, supervise, and support a team of 4 seamstresses

* Ensure quality control standards are met throughout the production process

* Perform occasional hand sewing to complete or refine products

* Collaborate with production managers to meet project deadlines

* Train new team members and upskill existing staff as needed

* Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area

Requirements

* Proven experience as a seamstress, ideally in a commercial or high-volume production environment

* Confident in using industrial sewing machines

* Comfortable with occasional hand sewing for finishing touches

* Strong leadership and communication skills

* Attention to detail and commitment to quality

* Ability to prioritise tasks and manage a small team effectively

Desirable

* Previous experience working with curtains, blinds, or other soft furnishings

* Understanding of commercial manufacturing timelines and quality expectations
