Unify are excited to be partnering with a leading construction plant hire business who are seeking an Operator Foreman to join their team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced operations professional to step into a key leadership position.

What do I need?

* Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels

* A strong understanding of plant and construction environments

* A proactive, safety-first approach with a focus on operational efficiency

* Soun decision making ability with strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

* Provide ongoing support to operators on-site, stepping in when needed to keep service levels high

* Lead and coordinate operator activity on complex, large-scale projects to ensure efficient delivery

* Contribute to operator meetings and drive forward agreed action points to support continuous improvement

* Manage depot operations, including receiving goods, plant oversight, and ordering of required parts

* Proactively engage with customers on-site to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities for additional project sales

* Organise training sessions such as Safety Stand Down, IFE, Thumbs Up, and Eco Driver initiatives

* Support recruitment efforts across depots by identifying staffing needs and helping source suitable candidates

* Carry out operator inductions, ensuring smooth integration into both company and project culture

* Conduct pre-employment assessments to confirm candidates meet company and project standards

* Promote and enforce 5-star PPE standards to maintain a strong safety culture across the workforce

* Report and escalate any plant damage or service issues quickly to minimise downtime

* Partner with mobile fitters to ensure scheduled maintenance and repairs are carried out without delay

* Deliver ongoing performance reviews, offering coaching and feedback to improve operator capability

* Build strong working relationships with project foremen through quarterly reviews, ensuring alignment with company values and long-term goals

Must have:

* Minimum of 10 years’ proven experience within the plant sector

* Valid CPCS tickets

* Valid PTS Medical, SCM (or equivalent)
