Teaching Assistant (ASD and SEMH Support) 

An SEN school in Wareham is currently seeking Teaching Assistants to start on a full time basis (Monday to Friday, with a half day on Fridays). 

This school graded 'Good' by OFSTED caters for students who have ASD and/or SEMH needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and be part of an inspiring and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Build positive relationships with students to support their social and emotional development
Provide one-to-one and group mentoring to promote engagement and resilience
Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in school life
Assist with behaviour management strategies and reinforce positive behaviours
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to deliver tailored support
Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
The ideal candidate will have:

Experience working with children or young people with ASD and SEMH
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
The ability to motivate and inspire students
Resilience and adaptability in a challenging but rewarding setting
