Description

Techniche Global are supporting a well-established packaging manufacturer to appoint a Maintenance Engineer. You’ll work on a wide range of equipment, taking ownership of planned and reactive maintenance tasks to minimise downtime and ensure smooth operations.

Salary:                 £38-42k per annum + benefits
Location:             Castleford, West Yorkshire- 100% onsite
Duration:             perm, full time
Schedule:            Monday to Friday (Rotating 2pm–10pm & 10pm–6am)
Overtime:           Paid at time and a half)

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults
Replace motors, bearings, couplings, and inverter drives
Strip and rebuild pneumatic diaphragm pumps (incl. ball kits)
Work closely with OEMs and third-party engineers for deeper diagnostics
Record maintenance activity clearly and accurately
Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
Desired Qualifications/ Experience

Maintenance experience in a manufacturing, print or packaging environment
Strong hands-on fault-finding skills (mechanical and electrical)
Self-sufficient and confident responding to breakdowns and carrying out preventative work
Familiarity with pumps, motors, inverter drives, and control panels
Recognised engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship
17th Edition (or newer) electrical qualification preferred
