SEMH Primary Teacher - Trafford 🌟

Role: SEMH Teacher (Primary)
Location: Trafford, Greater Manchester
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: January 2026 (or earlier by negotiation)

Are you a compassionate and resilient teacher with a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Primary Teacher to join a nurturing and inclusive Trafford primary school, committed to transforming the lives of pupils through tailored learning and emotional support.

🏫 About the School:

Our school is a welcoming, inclusive setting that supports children aged 5-11, many of whom present with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences. We pride ourselves on our therapeutic approach, strong pastoral care, and a curriculum designed to meet every child's individual needs.

👩‍🏫 The Role:

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

Teach a small group of pupils with additional SEMH needs within a supportive classroom environment

Develop and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to pupils' individual learning and emotional needs

Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral leads and external agencies

Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and resilience in young learners

Build trusting relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school community

✅ What We're Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) - essential

Experience working with children with SEMH, behavioural needs or trauma-informed approaches

A calm, consistent and empathetic approach to teaching and behaviour management

High levels of emotional intelligence, patience and a genuine commitment to inclusion

Strong communication and teamwork skills
