Commercial Support

Location: Corsham / Hybrid (2 days on site per week, flexible after initial period)

* Day Rate: £425 (Inside IR35, via Umbrella)

RT Consulting deliver innovative change and transformation to the Defence, Government, Policing and Transport sectors. As a Gold ERS Armed Forces Covenant SME with over 15 years’ experience, we support large-scale, complex programmes across multiple frameworks. We are growing our consultant network to support critical commercial programmes with a Defence Client.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Support/Manager to provide commercial support across major defence contracts, including a Global Connectivity Contract (c. £1bn) and an Internet Access Procurement (c. £580m). This role will involve managing complex contract changes, supporting large-scale procurement activity, and engaging with multiple commercial and cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide commercial support across large-scale connectivity and digital contracts.

* Manage contract changes through the RFC process, ensuring governance and approvals are in place.

* Negotiate amendments to RFCs and draft commercial correspondence with suppliers.

* Lead on commercial management of obsolescence, recording authority decisions.

* Support the procurement of large-scale services, including drafting CCS contract schedules and tender documentation.

* Develop evaluation methodologies, pricing models, and social value assessments.

* Conduct early market engagement and manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships (finance, product owners, delivery).

* Consider IPR implications, manage risk, and support assurance and approvals processes.

Skills & Experience Required

* Strong background in commercial and contract management, ideally in large-scale digital/telecoms or defence programmes.

* Experience with high-value procurement activity and contract change management.

* Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and negotiate with suppliers.

* Proven ability to draft procurement documentation, schedules, and evaluation criteria.

* Existing SC Clearance and UK Sole National status are essential.
