Electronic Repair Technician

Godalming, GU7
£30,000 - £32,000 per annum (DOE)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electronic Repair Technician to join our dynamic Test Bench team. You will play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing electronic and electrical assemblies used in traction and control systems. This is a hands-on role, ideal for candidates with strong soldering experience and a keen eye for quality.

Key Responsibilities

Fault-find, diagnose, and repair electronic/electrical assemblies down to component level.

Perform high-standard soldering (including SMT and through-hole) and PCB rework - IPC-610 / IPC-7711/21 compliance is essential.

Use test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, light sensors, and diagnostic software.

Refurbish and rebuild components in line with quality, safety, and engineering standards.

Follow detailed engineering drawings and maintain accurate service records.

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience in soldering and PCB rework; IPC-610 / IPC-7711/21 standards preferred or required.

Competent in using electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow documented repair procedures.

Hands-on skills in crimping, torque tightening, and basic mechanical assembly.

Minimum Level 3 ONC/NVQ in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent qualification).

A methodical and safety-conscious approach to work.
