Fostering Panel Advisor

Up to £43 per hour

2 days per week in-office

Are you a highly motivated and experienced agency professional with a background in social work? The London Borough of Lambeth is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fostering Panel Advisor to join our team. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of fostering regulations and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of care for children.

About the Role

As a Fostering Panel Advisor, you will play a key role in the fostering panel and the Agency Decision-Making process. Your duties will include:

* Quality assurance of all reports presented to the fostering panels and non-panel annual reviews.

* Providing communication and liaison between the panels and the Fostering Service.

* Briefing the Service Manager and Agency Decision Maker on Panel matters.

* Ensuring statutory requirements are met under key legislation, including the Fostering Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards 2011, and the Children's Act 2004.

* Managing the panel administrator and ensuring panels are appropriately administered.

* Assisting in the appointment, termination, and review of fostering panel members in consultation with the chairperson(s).

About You

We are looking for an experienced and Social Work qualified professional with a current Social Work England (SWE) registration. You should be able to demonstrate your knowledge and experience of working with fostering panels.

* Significant experience in fostering within a statutory setting.

* Ability to make professional judgments that lead to improved outcomes for children.

* Proven experience of building effective relationships with children, families, and other professionals.

* Strong working knowledge of national policy and legislation, including relevant statutory guidance and procedures.

* Ability to assess children and families holistically and engage effectively with other organisations.

* Experience in writing effective analytical reports and outcomes-focused care plans.

* A track record of supporting and empowering social workers to deliver high-quality, meaningful social work.

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a performance framework to ensure all indicators are met
