The Role

We are looking for an experienced Customs Clearance Clerk to handle end-to-end customs processes for imports and exports. You’ll be responsible for ensuring shipments are cleared accurately and on time, providing a seamless service for customers.

Key Responsibilities
• Complete import and export customs declarations in line with HMRC regulations.
• Manage the full customs clearance process, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Liaise with HMRC, carriers, clients, and internal teams to resolve queries promptly.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively update customers.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Keep up to date with changes in customs legislation and procedures.

Skills & Experience Required
• Previous experience in a customs clearance role (imports/exports).
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, including CDS/CHIEF and relevant tariff codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confident communicator with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple files.
• Freight forwarding experience is an advantage.
