Job Title: Sports Coaches – SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: SEND & Primary Schools – North Manchester
Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing

Are you a sports coach, activity leader, or youth mentor looking to bring your skills into the classroom?
Cover People UK are seeking enthusiastic, energetic and resilient individuals to work as SEN Teaching Assistant in specialist school in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

Our partner school is a forward-thinking SEND secondary school recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted (2024). The school is committed to providing high-quality education and holistic support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), celebrating both strong academic results and the personal development of every learner.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your coaching skills to motivate, inspire and engage pupils, while supporting their learning, behaviour and personal development in a school environment.

About the Role

Support children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or challenging behaviour.
Use your coaching background to deliver engaging activities that promote confidence, teamwork and resilience.
Provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils access learning and reach their potential.
Assist teaching staff in creating a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment.
Support pupils in lessons, at break times, and during enrichment activities.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience as a sports coach, activity leader, or youth mentor.
A passion for working with children and young people.
Resilience, energy and excellent communication skills.
A positive role model who can motivate and inspire.
Willingness to adapt coaching approaches to meet individual needs.
