Description

SEND Teaching Assistant

Full time term-time only

PK Education are proud to be working with a fantastic special school in North Nottingham, who are looking for passionate and proactive SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team.

This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to make a real difference in children’s lives every single day. You’ll be working with Primary-aged students who are non-verbal and pre-verbal, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing and supportive environment.

The role can be challenging at times, but it’s also hugely rewarding – perfect for someone who is energetic, committed, and wants to be part of a team that inspires potential in every child

What you’ll be doing:

Supporting the teacher in class and working closely with SEND students.
Building trusted relationships with pupils to create a safe, encouraging learning space.
Taking a hands-on, proactive approach to get involved in all aspects of school life.
Providing a nurturing and patient attitude to help students overcome frustrations and celebrate successes.
Adapting support strategies to meet a wide range of needs, from autism to severe learning difficulties.
What we’re looking for:

A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (EYFS or above).
Bonus skills: MAKATON, PECS, Visual Aids, PEG Feed, Hoist Training (but don’t worry if not – training can be given).
Someone proactive, enthusiastic, and motivated with a genuine passion for supporting children.
Flexibility, commitment, and resilience – you’ll be ready to go the extra mile.
A valid DBS on the update service.
Why join us?

A supportive, people-focused team who pride ourselves on matching you with the right schools.
The opportunity to develop your career, gain specialist training, and grow in confidence.
Most importantly – the chance to be part of something bigger: helping children achieve their potential, every single day.
If you’re the kind of person who wants to roll up their sleeves, get stuck in, and truly make a difference, we want to hear from you.
