We are seeking enthusiastic, skilled Groundworkers / Plant Operators to join our clients busy Civils team based in Clitheroe. Our client is a very reputable construction and civil engineering company with a strong track record in delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundwork projects across the UK. As they expand their operations, they are seeking skilled and reliable Groundworkers with experience in general groundworks, mainly Concreting and Drainage.

Role Overview:
As a Groundworker specialising in concreting and drainage, you will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of digging footings, drainage installations, laying of concrete, assembling rebar structures, concrete shuttering and most importantly, ensuring all drawings and systems meet required specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Digging trenches for footings with an excavator/digger

* Install and maintain drainage systems including foul and storm water systems

* Lay pipes to accurate line and level

* Construction of rebar boxes

* Pour concrete to accurate levels

* Construct and bench manholes and inspection chambers

* Work from technical drawings and site plans

* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

* Operate plant and hand tools safely and efficiently

* Collaborate with site supervisors and other trades on-site

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Groundworker, with a focus on drainage and concrete

* Ability to read and interpret drawings and plans

* CSCS card (essential)

* Waste Water (preferred)

* Dumper/Roller/Excavator tickets (must have at least one of these)

* Full UK driving licence (preferred)

* Strong work ethic and reliability

* Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively

* Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues

* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

* Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks, including lifting and digging

* A keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality workmanship in all tasks undertaken

* Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members

Work can sometimes be away from home, so transport, food and accommodation will be provided at no cost and extra pay is provided.
